Sandra Wickham 2014 Men's Masters Physique Competition 1st Place

I had my wife man or should I saw "woman" the camera while I was on stage for the night awards portion of the Sandra Wickham Men's Masters Physique Competition.

My wife is not really that familiar with my camera setup so we did a bit of a trial run at the morning show and had her setup to shoot video and also take a few photos while the video kept rolling for the evening show. Well somehow the camera got changed over from video mode and ended up in photo mode which is not ideal for taking simultaneous video and photo. You can only take either video or photos when in photo mode but at least I got a bit of both even though not exactly in the video resolution I was hoping for.

None the less I got some usable video and I can't really get made at my wife because I think she was more excited about the whole thing than I as.

I want to wish all the other contestants who shared the stage with me, Health and Success along their fitness journeys. They all put in the time and effort and deserved to be on that stage representing us men in our 40's and beyond.

I know there is some major work for me to do in order to improve my stage presence and overall physique but being that this was my first show I think I did OK :)

GetFitOver40 Mens Masters Physique Contest Vlog - Contest Day

Well I'm a day behind on this one :( Yesterday was a very busy and mentally draining day plus I did not get a lot of sleep the last couple of nights so after everything was all over it was simply time to go to bed. Today has been a bit of a travel and catch up day with my kids.

So enough of the excuses... How did I do? Well I won't leave you all in suspense, I got first place in my Men's Master Physique class which was not a large class since there where only 7 of us 40-50 year olds on the stage. Compare that to the 90 or so young bucks in the open class and you may think to yourself that the competition was not as hard in my class. I would tend to agree but the guys that where up there on stage with me all deserved to be there and I ask you this, how many of the 90 or so young bucks are going to be competing in Mens Physique when they turn 40 years old? Right there is how you separate the boys from the men.

OK, so now I am getting a bit cocky so I'll stop while I have made my point and move on...

This video covers some of my thoughts during the Contest Day of the Sandra Wickham Mens Masters Physique Contest. I don't really have any actual show or even back stage footage since I was making sure to stay focused on the task at hand and there was not much of an opportunity to use my camera while back stage. I will be posting show footage shortly once I have edited it so stay tuned for that...

So the prejudging  of the Sandra Wickham 2014 Men's Master Physique is complete and I have some great footage of it coming your way. As it turns out there where only 7 of us Men's Masters with the youngest being 41 and the oldest being 50, I was right in the middle at 45!

I have a few photos to hold you over till I can get the video edited and uploaded in a day or so...

GetFitOver40 Mens Masters Physique Contest Vlog - 1 Day Out

Here I am posting this video now on the day of the show since it is 12:30am as I type! So what happened today or I should say yesterday? Well I shaved my entire body, showered and exfoliated twice, did a quick re-dye of my hair, made 5 meals to take with me, packed up all my stuff, drove to the hotel, drove to the other check-in event hotel but forgot my shorts so had to go back to my hotel and get them... Checked into the event, went home and had dinner, drove back to the event hotel and got my tan, spilled water immediacy on myself and had to get touched up again, drove back to my hotel, had some more food, took some photos and more video and made edited this video and now I am posting it to you all :)

Tomorrow is the show, I have to be there around 10:30am, we go on at 12pm I believe. I am as prepared as I can be at this point. Tomorrow I should wake up super dry and filled in a bit. We will see how I do? Wish me luck!
