Insta360 One R 1 Inch Mod Versus Sony RX100 IV

In this YouTube Video I test out my new Insta360 One R with the 1 Inch Mod, comparing it to my Sony RX100 IV to see how they compare against each other.

It’s not really a fair comparison since my Sony RX100 IV is now 5 or 6 years old which is a long time for a digital camera but it has been really good to me and provided some really great quality video over the years. Compare that to the Insta360 One R that is about a year on the market now and you would think the clear winner would be the Insta360 One R.

On it’s own the Insta360 One R with the standard 4k lens would perform well against the Sony RX100 IV but the Sony RX100 IV has a 1 inch sensor allowing it to get the most out of each pixel and since I primarily shoot in 1080p 60 frames per second I need to get as much out of each pixel as I can.

One really great feature about the Insta360 One R is that it is modular so I can swap the 4k module out for a 5.7 k 360 module or even a 1 inch 5.3k module allowing both the Insta360 One R and the Sony RX100 IV to have that large 1 inch sensor keeping the comparison more inline with each other.

Some things to not that will make a big difference in quality and limitations for this video is that the Insta360 One R 1 Inch Mod was shot using 4k 60 fps while the Sony RX100 IV was shot using 1080p 60fps. The Insta360 One R 1 Inch Mod has a fixed focus while the Sony RX100 IV has a variable focus.

Anyway I will let you be the judge and decide which camera you like the look of the video for at least in this shooting situation.

Insta360 One R Camera Review

This is by far not a full Review of the Insta360 One R Camera but rather more of my take on the Insta360 One R Camera and what it can do for me and how I plan on using it in by Replica Airguns and Get Fit Over 40 YouTube channels.

I talk about how the Insta360 One R Camera compares to a GoPro type camera and how it can also be much more than a typical action camera because of its ability to morph from one camera to a completely different type of camera because of its modular form factor. Not to mention possible future new hardware lenses and even main modules that could increase the ability of this camera even further.

In this video I show some sample videos I shot using the Insta360 One R Camera with the 4K 60 fps Mod and its 5.3K 30 fps 360 Mod Lenses.

Testing My New Insta360 One R Camera

Had some fun today playing with my new Insta360 One R 360VR Camera while our walking the dogs! It's like having your own personal camera person tagging along since it shoots video in all direction which you can then pick and choose what subject matter to focus on and even change the zoom in and out. Super cool!

Garmin Fenix 5X and Why it's Now My Daily Driver

In this personalized review I talk about the Garmin Fenix 5X and why it's now my new Daily Driver. I've used a lot of fitness devices over the years to track my movement, exercise and workouts and over time they have gotten more and more advanced and become extremely sophisticated in terms of how they collect your activity data. Back in the day they only really counted your steps with not even a screen built into them as you had to sync to your smart phone to see the actual data. Now these fitness / Smart Watches are like little mini smart phone on your wrist collecting your activity in a plethora of ways and communicating that data instantly on their own built in screens.

Most of these Smart Fitness Watches communicate much more than just your health data, since they are linked to your Smart Phone they can share a lot of what's going on with your phone, incoming phone calls, texts, calendar events, most notifications you have set on your phone will also be sent to your Smart Fitness Watch if you want it to.

With all that said, after using many of these devices including the popular Apple Watch and Samsung Galaxy Watch I have finally circled back to a Garmin product as the focus with Garmin devices has always been to track your fitness and activity first and foremost. Because of this I feel I get the best and most solid fitness tracking possible when using a Garmin product even if I have to give up a few other bell and whistles a more rounded Smart Watch may offer. I explain this more in the video so make sure to watch it for my Take on the Garmin Fenix 5X and why it's now my new Daily Driver.
